The Types of Blinds We Clean

First off, what’s the difference between a blinds and shades? Blinds have a row or column of hard slats with spaces in between. Shades are a continuous roll of softer material that covers the entire window opening when rolled down.

Brands

Duette

Duette

In both single- and double-honeycomb form, Duette® shades are designed to provide energy-efficient window coverage for your home or office. Hunter Douglas provides Duette in a variety of sizes, fabrics, and colors; with either a horizontal or vertical orientation. No matter the color or fabric, we can clean it!

Silhouette

Silhouette

Hunter Douglas’s Silhouette® shades have a unique s-shape, with two vanes “floating” between sheer fabric panels. Of course, this means it’s much harder for traditional cleaning methods to get in there and really scrub off the grime and dust.

Luminette

Luminette

Made exclusively by Hunter Douglas, Luminette® Privacy Sheers are meant to celebrate natural light while protecting your privacy. These sheer fabric vanes can rotate 180 degrees. They’re meant to filter out glare and ultraviolet rays – but they can’t do that if they’re dirty!

Materials

Wood

Wood

True wood blinds are a thing of beauty, coming in all sorts of color and types of wood. They are also fragile in the wrong conditions, which include humidity, moisture, and time. Wood blinds may be prone to cracking, warping, or breaking. They must be handled with the utmost care, and ultrasonic blind cleaning is gentle while being thorough.

Vinyl

Vinyl

Vinyl is a plastic used widely in household objects. It is man-made, not a natural material, and because of that it tends to be cheaper and last longer. It comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and is quite easy to clean in general.

Don’t see your blinds on this list? We probably know how to clean it. We handle most any blinds, shades, shutters, curtains, drapes, or any other window treatment known to man. Just give us a call and ask!

Styles

Roman

Roman

Roman shades are as traditional a style as they come – a sheet of material covering a window completely. When raised, the sections of fabric or plastic fold up at the top. Different manufacturers offer Roman shades, some with special treatments that block sunlight or provide heat retention. Special coatings may not be possible to clean with ultrasonic blind cleaning, so let us have a look at your Roman blinds first.

Vertical

Vertical

Vertical blinds are common and cost-effective. These slats hang top-to-bottom (vertically) from a track. They are usually used on sliding glass patio doors or large, ceiling-to-floor windows. They may seem simple, but they have lots of moving parts and need to be handled carefully.

Mini

Mini

What we call “mini blinds” are really mini Venetian blinds. These popular blinds have horizontal slats with several “tapes” running through them, and when you pull the cord, these slats stack up against each other, ending up as a small package at the top of the window.
